Zares Cup Elite International

An international tournament in São João da Madeira and Aveiro, in northern Portugal, against leading academies from across Europe, in front of professional scouts and clubs such as FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, SL Benfica and Sporting CP. The first edition was played in 2025.

A single-round group stage sends the top two of each group and the best third-placed team to the Elite stage, and the other teams to the Sub-Elite stage; both are knockouts. Cups go to the champion, finalist and third-placed team, every player receives a medal and a diploma, and there are awards for the best outfield player, top scorer, best goalkeeper, the Fair Play team and the most enthusiastic supporter.

Nearby: São João da Madeira's Hat and Shoe museums, the Oliva Creative Factory, Rio Ul park and the medieval castle of Santa Maria da Feira.

Applications close 20 days before the tournament starts. Accommodation and meals are paid 50% at least 95 days before the tournament and the balance at least 35 days before the tournament. Cancelling costs 50% of the accommodation and meals from 180 days before the start and 100% from 60 days. The registration fee is not refundable.
