Volos Soccer Cup

A winter tournament on the Aegean coast in Volos, where, as legend has it, the Argonauts set sail. Matches are played on several sports complexes with top-quality pitches, against amateur and well-known clubs from across the Balkans.

One team from each group goes to the final stage and the others play for the final placings; drawn play-off games go to penalties. Players must be of the right age for their category, with no exceptions. The top three teams of each category receive trophies and medals, and every player a diploma and a souvenir.

In and around Volos: Roman and Ottoman baths, ancient sites, a replica of the Argo, and the Pelion ski resort.

Applications close 30 days before the tournament starts. Accommodation and meals are paid 30% at least 30 days before the tournament and the balance at least 15 days before the tournament. Cancelling costs 30% of the accommodation and meals from 30 days before the start and 100% from 15 days. The registration fee is not refundable.

Full board, price per person for 2 nights:

• 5-star hotel: players €165 in a triple room; the same for accompanying adults. Extra night €65.

• 4-star hotel: players €165 in a triple room, €205 in a double room, €290 in a single room; the same for accompanying adults. Extra night €65.

• 3-star hotel: players €145 in a triple room, €185 in a double room, €265 in a single room; the same for accompanying adults. Extra night €55.

Nearest airport: Thessaloniki airport, Athens airport. Airport transfer about €25 per person each way. Transfers between the hotel and the pitches about €31 per person. No registration fee for teams staying in the tournament hotels.
