Epiphany Trophy

The Trofeo della Befana takes teams to Viareggio in early January, when the Tuscan coast is mild and the pitches, natural grass and artificial, stay playable. Held for more than a dozen editions, it has hosted amateur and professional sides from Italy, France, Malta, Switzerland, Algeria and Japan, with seaside hotels in Viareggio and Versilia.

A group stage is followed by play-offs for the first two of each group; the other teams play for the final placings. Every player receives a participation medal; in the older age groups the top four teams win trophies, and below U12 every team receives one.

Lucca and Pisa are a short drive away, Florence about an hour.

Applications close 20 days before the tournament starts. Accommodation and meals are paid in full at least 20 days before the tournament. Cancelling costs 30% of the accommodation and meals from 30 days before the start, 60% from 15 days and 100% from 5 days. The registration fee is not refundable.
